International Artists Symposium
This year we will be holding online symposium with international and local artists and are open to all audiences. We will open 150 seats at Lambing Sari, Istana Budaya to the public. Speakers
Olivier Tarpaga (founder and artistic director, Dafra Drums), Tomas Nilsson (musician/percussion extraordinaire, SISU Percussion), I Wayan Sudirana (composer-ethnomusicologist Gamelan Yuganada), Larry Hwang (arranger, composer Ju Percussion Group), Ziya Tabassian (tombak specialist/Iranian percussion instruments) and Bernard Goh (founder and artistic director, HANDS Percussion) discuss the greatest influences on their percussive work over the years, what their work has in common and what has their work most impacted in their respective communities and in the industry, among other things.
They also talk to us about the challenges of the pandemic, the toll it took on themselves and their teams, and what is it from their backgrounds or experiences that has helped them revive what was lost.
